It's so quiet here.. everyone must be busy cracking codes. Not sure how you are doing - the more I solve, the harder it seems to be getting! I thought I was getting close, but now I'm realizing I'm still very far away.  Happy puzzling! -Jiladis |

I know what you mean. This puzzle has not ceased to challenge me. I actually got started a couple of days late, so I'm sure someone else will win, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying a good challenge! |

I tried to get started at the beginning, but sucky ISP meant I really didn't get much real chance to focus on it until the Wednesday. Have made huge progress since then, but like you guys, are starting to come to a stand still. It is SO frustrating as the next stage seems tantalizingly close when I try to put it all together.

We're happy that we are able to keep challenging you guys. We sought to create a contest that would give a real test to people at all puzzle skill levels, but was still winnable and logical each step of the way. Continued good luck.

The funny thing is, the first master I thought I had a solution for is still unsolved for me (even though the answers seem correct and obvious)... and I know that the general approach is right coz I have solved enough others  |

I keep solving things but it seems like every time I solve something I just get more and more discouraged. And so many have been solved already it doesn't seem worth it to keep trying when I'm just coming up with dead ends. :/

Welcome, romanticist...you've come to the right place. There are some very helpful posters here who can probably give you the nudge you need to make the breakthroughs you're looking for.
Two reasons not to give up:
1. You and others (even players who are new) can still become prize-winners in this contest.
2. Any frustration when working on puzzles will make the "aha!" moments that much sweeter.
